Objective

Renaissance Dental and Implant Institute is pleased to offer you the opportunity to be part of an exceptional learning experience: THE ULTIMATE GRAFTING COURSE. Day One is all didactic, and Day Two is hands-on. Topics & speakers include:

The Role of CBCT in a Multidisciplinary World
Dr. Mitra Sadrameli
The impact of Cone Beam Computerized Tomography has profoundly altered dentistry and has generated a new paradigm in treatment planning. There is a radical change in the realization for the need to view anatomical structures in 3D rather than 2D. Some authors suggest that it may be the standard of care for certain modalities of treatment. CBCT has applications in Orthodontics, Endodontics, Oral and Maxillo-Facial Surgery, Oral Diagnostics to Implant Dentistry and Bone Grafting. This new visualization also gives us insight to pathological changes which are best diagnosed by the Oral Radiologist. This program will lay the foundation for:
• why 3D is the optimal format for treatment planning
• which size of field (small, medium or large) is best for the task at hand
• review of important radiographic anatomy
• when to refer to an Oral Radiologists for an interpretation of the images

Soft Tissue Grafting
Dr. David Wong
Autogenous connective tissue grafts from the palate have been the gold standard for surgically correcting gingival recession for decades. With the advent of newer soft (and hard) tissue allografts, grafting procedures are increasingly predictable, quick, effective, and less painful for patients. In this presentation, follow the evolution of root coverage surgery from autogenous grafts to the more contemporary alternatives of today. Discover how these newer materials are making it easier for patients to say “yes” and how their results can impact the level of esthetics, periodontal health and predictable restorative dentistry our profession can deliver.
• accurately define soft tissue defects and identify common periodontal issues
• understand the periodontal complications of soft tissue defects
• review both classic and current techniques to treat soft tissue defects with periodontal plastic surgery
• define the goals of periodontal plastic surgery and keys to success
• be able to assess results
• keys to case acceptance
• live video demonstrations
• periodontal techniques to maximize restorative outcomes
• coordinating perio-restorative concepts in a TEAM approach

Bone Grafting
Dr. Jim Grisdale
This workshop explores various grafting materials, their indications and applications, and types of defects the clinician can predictably fill. Indications and use of membranes will also be discussed. All procedures are taught using anatomically correct models, and all instrumentation is provided.

Implementing Optimal Implant Restorations
Dr. Dwayne Karateew
This program will review the art of restorative dental implant cases. These steps include planning, uncovery, impression, provisionalization and final restorative placement. Through simple treatment protocol and laboratory procedures participants will learn how to develop highly esthetic restoration that replicates the contour of natural teeth. In addition they will learn how to gain patient acceptance for implant treatment and restorative treatment plans, plus the fundamentals of a team approach to implant dentistry
• diagnosis and treatment planning according to tissue biotype
• treating the challenging single tooth implant restoration in the aesthetic zone
• dental implant provisionalization; new materials & techniques
• how to set up systems for successful implementation of implants in the practice
• roles of all team members, including staff, surgeon, restorative dentist and lab
